Travel Mascots Part 4

The return of Iain Several weeks ago, I reported that I had very carelessly lost Iain, my wee travel companion. I surmised that I had perhaps left him on the rooftop of my car while I packed my things or that I had simply left him on the rocks at Salen Jetty.     While … Continue reading Travel Mascots Part 4 →

Travel Mascots Part 3

Introducing Iain mac IainAfter the tragic loss of the original Iain, I would like to introduce his wayward son Iain mac Iain. Wayward, because he has abandoned the family tartan, has a tattoo and is wearing shoes, and a utility belt. He has cast aside family tradition and decided to wear mostly black. Perhaps it's … Continue reading Travel Mascots Part 3 →

Do you like to buy souvenirs when you travel? I do! These days I try to buy useful things like tea towels. And spoons! Which I use in my spice jars. These little beauties come from the op shop (thrift store) I’ve been to all the places but I bought the spoons second hand. A tiny bit of sustainability! Every little bit counts! #sustainabletravel #sustainablesouvenirs #travelsouvenirs #everylittlebitcounts #opshop #vinnies #salvos

Country towns in NSW have some fabulous architecture to investigate! Last week I went out to Narrabri for work and I was treated to some impressive examples of Art Deco, brutalist and mid 1880 styles. Well worth a visit! The @tourist_hotel_narrabri has only just been renovated. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out. #narrabri #visitnsw #tourismnsw #architecturephotography #artdecoarchitecture #ruralnsw #touristhotelnarrabri
Since I’ve been giving FB a miss for the last few months, I have lots of photos in the vault looking for a place to be seen. Maybe it’s time I went back to the dark side and posted direct? Last month I did a four day deployment in Ballina with SES helping out with flood relief. That’s the Aussie equivalent of Air-force 1 in the background. Volunteering is a great way to make a difference! #ses #nswses #floodsinlismore #nswfloods2022 #beavolunteer
